गुदना रूपांकनों को दर्शाता एक पारंपरिक भील चित्र
भील चित्रकला मानव-प्रकृति संबंधों, देवताओं, त्योहारों, किंवदंतियों और लोककथाओं को दर्शाते जीवंत और अभिव्यंजक कला रूपों में से एक है। एक पारंपरिक भील घर को मिट्टी की उभरी कलाकृतियों और चित्रकारी से सजाया जाता है। खनिजों, पौधों और अन्य प्राकृतिक संसाधनों से प्राप्त लाल, पीला, हरा, नीला, काला तथा सफेद प्राकृतिक रंगों का उपयोग करके दीवारों और फर्शों पर नीम की टहनी से निर्मित कूचियों से चित्रकारी की जाती है। कैनवास पर निर्मित प्रस्तुत भील चित्र में गुदना रूपांकनों, भील जनजाति द्वारा पहने जाने वाले लोकप्रिय आभूषण, शिकार के दृश्य, घोड़ों की पंक्ति और अन्य गतिविधियों को दर्शाया गया है। भील महिलाओं द्वारा उपयोग किए जाने वाले गुदना रूपांकनों को महिलाओं का आवरण माना जाता है। यह मध्य भारत में भील जनजाति में प्रचलित एक प्राचीन कला है। प्रत्येक रूपांकन का एक विशेष महत्व होता है, जिसे एक महिला के जीवन संस्कारों के अनुसार बनाया जाता है।

A traditional Bhil painting depicting tattoo motifs
Bhil painting is one of the most vibrant and expressive art forms that depicts human-nature relationship, deities, festivals, legends & folklore. A traditional Bhil house is decorated with clay relief work and painting on mud walls. Paintings are done on walls and floors using natural pigments derived from minerals, plants & other natural resources. Brush is made of neem twig. Mostly red, yellow, green, blue, black and white colours are used. The present painting is a Bhil painting made on canvas depicting tattoos motifs, popular ornaments worn by the Bhil tribe, hunting scene, row of horses and other activities. The tattoos motifs mostly used by the Bhil women are considered to be the visual representation of women attire. It is an ancient art form practiced by the Bhil tribe in central India. Each motif has a special significance, applied according to rites of passage in a woman’s life.
