अथेर्यु या अथरियु
ऊंट का आवरण
अथरियु ऊंटों को सजाने के लिए प्रयुक्त एक आवरण है, जिसे कच्छ, गुजरात की रबारी महिलाओं द्वारा बनाया एवं पिपली डिजाइन और कपड़े की लटकनों से सुसज्जित किया जाता है। ढेबरिया रबारी, रबारी समुदाय का एक उप समूह है जो परंपरागत रूप से ऊंट पालते हैं। वे अपने पशुओं के लिए चरागाहों की तलाश में रेगिस्तान में बहुत दूर तक प्रवासन करते हैं। उनके जीवन में आवश्यक सभी वस्तुएं ऊंटों पर लादी तथा ढोई जाती हैं। इसलिए ऊंटों को श्रेष्ठ जानवर माना जाता है। वे मेलों, त्योहारों और विवाह के दौरान बारात के लिए ऊंटों को सजाते हैं। अथरियु के अलावा वे ऊंटों को कई अन्य सज्जा सामग्रियों जैसे सिर के कपड़े, रस्सी और मुंह के लिए लटकन के गहने, गर्दन की पट्टी, माला, घुटने के आभूषणों आदि से सजाते हैं।

Coverlet for Camel
Athariyu is a covering for camels, decorated with applique designs and fabric tassels, made by Rabari women of Kutch, Gujarat. Dhebariya Rabari, a sub group of Rabaris traditionally herds camels. They cover a great distance through the desert in search of pastures for their livestock. All things required for their survival are packed onto and carried by camels. So camels are regarded as superior animals. They decorate the camel for processions during marriage, fairs and festivals. Besides Athariyu, camels are decorated with many other accessories like head cloth, rope and tassel ornaments for jaws, neck bands, garlands, knee ornaments etc.
