अरबॉम
मुर्गी रखने की टोकरी
मिज़ोरम की मिज़ो जनजाति में अरबॉम नामक यह टोकरी मुर्गियों को रखने के लिए उपयोग की जाती है। टोकरी को मुर्गियों को पालतू बनाने के लिए आरामदायक और आसानी से उठाने योग्य बनाया गया है। इसका निचला हिस्सा चौकोर है जिसे गोलाकार बुनते हुए सभी ओर से दीवार के रूप में ऊपर उठाया जाता है और बेंत की पतली खपच्चियों से आपस में बुन लिया जाता है। गुंबदाकार ऊपरी भाग पूरी संरचना का लगभग एक-तिहाई है और बेंत की पतली खपच्चियों से जालियां बना कर सजाया गया है। इसमें शीर्ष पर एक छोटा गोलाकार खुला हिस्सा है। टोकरी के एक तरफ मुर्गियों के प्रवेश के लिए एक छोटा आयताकार दरवाजा है जिसे बांस की मजबूत चौखट से बनाया गया है और बेंत से मजबूती से बांधा गया है। प्रवेश द्वार को बंद करने के लिए लकड़ी का एक छोटा तख्ता लगाया गया है।

Arbawm
A chicken basket
Among the Mizo tribe of Mizoram Arbawm – a poultry basket is used to keep fowls, roosters, and chickens. The basket is built handy and comfortable to domesticate local chickens and fowls. It has a square base that raises into a woven wall, finely intertwined with cane splits in a circular pattern from all sides. A dome-shaped upper part is about one-third of the whole structure and is delicately plaited with fine canes in a latticed manner. It contains a small circular opening on the top. One side of the basket has a small rectangular door for chickens to enter and this is built with a strong frame of bamboo sticks, firmly tied with canes. A small wooden plank is fitted to the entrance, to serve the purpose of a door shutter.
