यह आंध्रप्रदेश के उत्तर तटीय जिलों में ’’तेलुकुला’’ समुदाय के लोगों के द्वारा उपयोग किया जाने वाला तेल निकालने का एक पारम्परिक उपकरण है। इस विशाल उपकरण की संपूर्ण संरचना काष्ठ निर्मित होती है। यह ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में व्यापक रूप से प्रचलित एक सरल एवं पारम्परिक तकनीक है। पारम्परिक कोल्हू का प्रयोग एक समुदाय विशेष तेलुकुला के द्वारा किया जाता है। जो कि आंध्रप्रदेश में तेल निकालते और तेल बेचते हैं। इसका केन्द्र बीम ’’गुनुगुडिम्मा’’ केन्द्रीय आधार बनाता है एवं काष्ठ निर्मित एक लम्बे, गोल बेलन के सहारे 5 से 10 लीटर तेल भण्डारण की क्षमता रखता है। इस उपकरण को बैल की सहायता से संचालित किया जाता है।
तेल निकालने के लिये दो प्रकार के उपकरणों का उपयोग किया जाता है, प्रथम जिससे खाद्य पदार्थों जैंसे मूंगफली, निगर इत्यादि से तेल निकाला जाता है, जवकि दूसरे उपकरण द्वारा गैर खाद्य पदार्थों जैंसे नीम, केस्टर, पुंगम आदि बीजों से तेल निकाला जाता है। आधुनिकीकरण के कारण इन पारम्परिक उपकरणों का प्रचलन दिन प्रतिदिन दुर्लभ होता जा रहा है।

It is a traditional oil expeller used by people of Telukula in North coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh. The entire oil press is made of wood and it is a massive structure. It is a simple traditional technology widely distributed in the rural areas. The traditional oil press is used for extraction of oil by a particular community Telukula who are the oil expellers and oil selling community in Andhra Pradesh. The centre beam “Ganugudimma” constitutes the central base and contains 5-10 litres oil capacity supported with a long wooden round roller. The entire oil press is run by an ox animal power.
There are two types of oil press: the edible oil press, mainly extracting ground nut, niger seeds etc. and the non- edible oil press i.e. Neem seeds, pungam seeds, caster seed etc. Extracting oil in the traditional oil press is becoming a rarity day by day due to modern impact.
