छतरी
मरुग्राम मुक्ताकाश प्रदर्शनी में पीले सेंडस्टोन पर नक्काशी कर बनायी गई जैसलमेर, राजस्थान की बड़ी “छतरी” स्थापित है, जिसे वहीं से आए पारंपरिक कलाकारों द्वारा बनाया गया है। पूर्वजों की स्मृति में स्मारक बनाने की परंपरा भारत के अधिकांश आदिवासी, लोक एवं कई अन्य समुदायों में देखने को मिलती है। पश्चिम भारत में विशेष रूप से राजस्थान में यह छतरियां ऐतिहासिक काल से दिखाई देती है।
छतरियों के वास्तुशिल्प प्रतिमान और शैलियां एक स्थान से दूसरे स्थान तथा एक वंश से दूसरे वंश में अलग-अलग हो सकती हैं। यह विशेष संरचना वास्तुकला की परमार शैली का प्रतिनिधित्व करती है।
CHHATARI
This large intricately carved sandstone “Chhatari” is acquired from Jaisalmer, Rajasthan and installed in Desert Village open air exhibition by the artisan of respective area.The tradition of erecting memorial structure is common amongst most of the tribal, folk and several other communities of India. In western India particularly in Rajasthan it can be seen in form of Chhataries ever since from historical period.
Architecturally the patterns and style may vary from one place to another as also from one dynasty to another. This particular structure is a representation of Parmar style of architecture.
