अंजी पाफल (शाशक देवता का एक प्रतीक)

मणिपुर के शाशक देवता के मिथकीय या काल्पनिक रूप की टेरकोटा में जीवंत आकार की रचना मणिपुर के मूर्ति एवं पॉटरी कलाकारों द्वारा तैयार की गई है| इसकी रचना उनके ‘लाई चफू’ कहलाने वाले अनुष्ठाणिक पात्र के प्रतीक को वृहद दृश्य के प्रतिनिधित्व हेतु की गई है| पात्र मे इस देवता के प्रतिमान है तथा केवल अनुष्ठाणिक उद्देश्य से बनाये जाते है| इस पात्र का उपयोग मणिपुर घाटी में अन्द्रो गाँव के कुम्हारों के बीच समाज स्वीकृत निषेधों और रिवाजों से प्रतिबंधित है|
ANJI PAPHAL (Symbol of a Ruling Deity)

This life size creation of a mythical form of the ruling deity of Manipur on terracotta medium was prepared by the sculpture and potter artists from Manipur. It is created to represent the larger view of the symbol they use in their ritual pot called ‘Lai Chaphu’. The Pot carries the motif of this deity, and is exclusively meant for ritual purposes. The use of the pot is restricted with socially sanctioned taboos and customs among the Potters of the Andro village in the valley of Manipur.
