लकड़ी का एक अलंकृत पात्र
सिंधोरा/सिंदूरा लकड़ी का एक अलंकृत पात्र है इसमें एक लंबा ऊर्ध्वाधर ढक्कन है जिस पर एक घुंडी के साथ कई स्तरों में नक्काशी की गई है। इसे लाल रंग से रंगकर इस पर रूपांकन किए गए हैं। इसका उपयोग सिंदूर और एक चांदी का सिक्का रखने के लिए किया जाता है, जिसे देवी लक्ष्मी से जुड़ी सामग्री माना जाता है। विवाह में वर सिन्दूर से भरा हुआ एक सिन्दूरा लाता है और उसे विवाह करने के लिए अपनी दुल्हन की मांग में भरता है। एक विवाहित महिला जीवन भर इसे अपने साथ रखती है। यह एक महिला के लिए प्यार, परवाह करने वाली और सुहाग का प्रतीक है। सिंधोरा/सिंदूरा समृद्धि और देवी लक्ष्मी के आशीर्वाद का प्रतीक है। यह विवाहित जोड़े के मजबूत रिश्ते और उनके जीवन में समृद्धि का भी प्रतीक है। यह पश्चिम बंगाल में भी पाया जाता है जिसे गच्छ कूटो के नाम से जाना जाता है। यह नवविवाहित बंगाली वधु की एक अनिवार्य सामग्री है, जिसे उसे विवाह के आरंभ से लेकर विवाह के पश्चात अपने ससुराल में प्रवेश करने तक अपने साथ रखना होता है।

A decorative wooden pot
Sindhora/Sindoora is a decorative wooden pot having a long vertical lid carved into tires with a knob. It is painted in red colour decorated with designs on it. It is used to keep Sindoor/vermilion and a silver coin which is believed as an accessory of goddess Laxmi. At the wedding the groom brings a Sindoora filled with Sindoor and put it along the partition of the hair of his bride to get married. A married woman keeps with her throughout her life. It is the symbol of love, care and Suhaag for a woman. Sindhora/Sindoora symbolizes to bring wealth and blessings of goddess Laxmi. It also symbolizes the strong bond between the couple and financial growth in her married life. It is also found in West Bengal known as Gachh Kouto. It is an indispensable accessory of newly-wed Bengali bride, she has to carry this from the beginning of the wedding to till the time she enters the house of her in- laws after her wedding.
