केरल के भित्ति चित्र बेजोड़ रैखिक सटीकता के साथ अपनी विशिष्ट सुंदरता, स्पष्टता और समरूपता के लिए जाने जाते हैं। इन भित्ति चित्रों का महत्व तकनीकी कौशल और निपुणता के साथ चमकीले रंगों के प्रयोग से वनस्पतियों और जीवो का सरल और विषय अनुरूप चित्रण है।पारंपरिक रूप से केरल के भित्ति चित्रों के निर्माण में रेखांकन के उपरांत वनस्पति और खनिजों से तैयार पांच मुख्य रंगों – लाल, पीला, हरा, काला और सफेद रंग का प्रयोग किया जाता हैं। भित्ति चित्रकला की पूरी प्रक्रिया में विभिन्न घटकों का सावधानीपूर्वक संतुलन होता है। कैनवास पर बनी इस पेंटिंग में केरल भित्ति चित्र शैली में भगवान गणेश को मूषक की सवारी करते और अपने बाएं हाथ से मूषक का मुंह पकड़े हुए दर्शाया गया है।

Mural painting
The murals of Kerala stand out for their prominence in beauty, clarity and symmetry with unmatched linear accuracy. The importance of Kerala murals are their simple and thematic presentation of idealistic reproduction of flora and fauna with technical excellence, illustrated with rich and delicate strokes and hued with bright colours. In Kerala, traditionally the mural painting is done in five colours – red, yellow, green, black and white. Colours are prepared from vegetables and mineral pigments. The line drawing is made initially and subsequently the five colours are applied. The entire process of mural painting involves meticulous balancing of various components.
