अंबारी

छतरी और कसे हुए हौदे के साथ अंबारी हाथी सबसे विशिष्ट हस्तनिर्मित कोंडापल्ली खिलौनों में से एक है।आंध्र प्रदेश के कृष्णा जिले के कोंडापल्ली गांव में कारीगरों द्वारा पीढ़ी दर पीढ़ी लकड़ी के हस्तनिर्मित खिलौने बनाए जाते रहे हैं। निकटवर्ती कोंडापल्ली पहाड़ियों में पाई जाने वाली पुंकी या तेल्लापोंकी (जिउतिया रोटेरी फ्रॉमिस) जैसी नर्म लकड़ी की स्थानीय प्रजातियों का उपयोग कोंडापल्ली खिलौने बनाने के लिए किया जाता है।
ये खिलौने संक्रांति और नवरात्रि के शुभ त्योहारों के दौरान घरों में इकट्ठे किए गए विविधता पूर्ण खिलौनों में से एक हैं। खिलौने बनाने वाले कारीगर आर्यक्षत्रिय या नकरशलु के नाम से जाने जाते है और वह अपने काम में सामान्यतः ग्रामीण जीवन को दर्शाते हैं।
खिलौने के प्रत्येक भाग को अलग से उकेरा जाता है। इमली के बीज के चूर्ण- मक्कू और लकड़ी के बुरादे से निर्मित पेस्ट को सभी भागों को एक साथ जोड़ने के लिए उपयोग किया जाता है। अंतिम चरण में अनूठी पारंपरिक तकनीक का उपयोग करते हुए इन्हें तैलीय या प्राकृतिक रंगों से रंगा जाता है। खिलौनों के निर्माण में वैषम्य चमकीले रंगों और हल्की नर्म लकड़ियों के उपयोग की परंपरा सदियों पुरानी है। कोंडापल्ली खिलौने बनाने की विश्व प्रसिद्ध समृद्ध परंपरा में कारीगर पशुओं की तथा पौराणिक कथाओं और ग्रामीण जीवन पर आधारित आकृतियां बनाते हैं। अपने सम्पूर्ण वैभव के साथ दर्शायी गयी अंबारी हाथी की यह प्रतिमा शिल्प कौशल का एक शानदार नमूना है।

AMBARI

The Ambari Elephant, with its canopied and saddled pavilion, is one of the most distinctive handcrafted Kondapalli toys. Handmade wooden toys have been made for generations in Kondapalli village of Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh by artisans passing down their skills from generation to generation. Local species of softwood like Punki or Tellaponki (Jiuotia rotteri fromis) found in the adjacent Kondapalli hills are used to make Kondapalli toys.
These toys are one of the varieties of toys assembled in the houses during the auspicious festivals of Sankranti and Navaratri. The artisans who make the toys are known as Aryakhastriya or Nakarshalu and their work generally depicts rural life.
Each part of the toy is carved out separately. Makku- a paste of tamarind seed powder and sawdust are used to join the pieces together. The last step is colouring with oil paint or natural dyes employing a unique traditional technique. The use of contrastingly vibrant colours and lightweight softwood is an age-old tradition of production. With the rich tradition of making world-famous Kondapalli toys, artisans create figures based on mythology, rural life, and animals. This object represents the stunning piece of craftmanship of an Ambari elephant standing in all its glory.
