ढांक या तासी
वाद्ययंत्र
बहुतेरे जनजातीय और लोक समाजों में नृत्य और गीतों की प्रस्तुति के लिए एक प्रकार के ढोल का उपयोग किया जाता है। बंगाली लोक संस्कृति में इस प्रकार के वाद्य यंत्र को ढाक या ढाकी के नाम से जाना जाता है और ज्यादातर त्योहारों और पूजा के दौरान बजाया जाता है। यह लकड़ी के एक ही टुकड़े को खोखला करके तैयार किया गया बैरल के आकार का एक ढोल है। यह वाद्ययंत्र पारंपरिक ढोल की तुलना में बड़ा है। ऐसे वाद्य यंत्र अपने आकार और पैमाने के संदर्भ में क्षेत्रीय और जातीय भिन्नताएं दर्शाते हैं। ढोल के दोनों तरफ बकरी की खाल को लगाकर चमड़े के एक मोटे पट्टे से मज़बूती से कसा जाता है। कसने का कार्य मजबूत सुतली से किया गया है जिसके सिरों पर पीतल के गोल छल्ले लगे हैं। इसे हाथ से या छड़ी की सहायता से भी बजाया जा सकता है। वादक कभी-कभी वांछित लय प्राप्त करने के लिए ढोल को लगभग लंबवत स्थिति में रखकर मुख्य रूप से एक तरफ का उपयोग करता है, जबकि दूसरी तरफ छड़ी या थाप से पीटता है। ढाक की धुन दुर्गा पूजा उत्सव का एक अभिन्न अंग है।

Musical Drum
Many tribal and folk societies use a type of musical drum for performing dance and songs. In the Bengali folk culture such kind of musical instrument is known as Dhak or Dhaki and mostly played during festivals and pujas. It is a hollowed-out barrel-shaped drum prepared from a single piece of wood. This instrument is larger than a traditional Dhol. Such instruments have regional and ethnic variations in terms of their size and scale. The goat’s skin is wrapped around both sides and secured to the hollowed hardwood shell with a thick leather strap. The bracing is formed of strong cotton thread with circular brass rings at the ends. It can be played either by hand or with the use of sticks. The player sometimes uses mainly one side by positioning the drum nearly vertical to attain the desired rhythm, while the other side is thrashed with sticks or fists. The beating of dhak is an integral part of the Durga puja celebration.
